I think the situation is totally ridiculous. Trump is politically not a fool - he realized how the ordinary people in the USA suffer because of the disregard and disdain the political elite has for them and he mobilized support by highlighting their problems.
The elite politico's and their media supporters realize the threat he poses to them and they are attacking him for all crimes imaginable. That is why people should really disregard their shenanigans if one really has to get to the truth about the situation - not only in the USA - but also in Europe.
Some of the few kingdoms in Europe can also be under threat - they are the great supporters of the EU - even though they do not make public comments. The most prominent of those are the Dutch Royal House.
