Jeez the Aussie goal line defence look shaky. France over already. Meafou is a unit.

Ozzie playing some ball but pass forward

France should walk over Ozzie...free kick

Nice hands by after the tap

And now Australia get a free kick at scrum time.

2 scrums and 2 Free kicks

It can't carry on like this. Scrums are becoming more irrelevant with every game that passes.

Ja same in the previous game. Front rows crash down, ref just calls use it, use it.

Good Aussie defense forcing the cheap surrender through Ntamack's kick.

This time Ntamack's kick gets France the try. Bit soft in the end. Aussie will have to keep the scoreboard ticking, France have some powerful carriers and they'll wear the Aussie defence down.

They're checking head on head by France

Probably a yellow

Yeah, it's yellow.

Oz have a penalty on the French line

This will give them some steam

Here we go, Oz have a scrum and France a man short in the scrum.

...and France give away a free kick.

4 fucking scrum in this game and 3 free kicks!

Seriously, how the fucking fuck is this what rugby has become!?!?!?!?!?,!?!?!,???

Pakie

Yeah you can basically just intentionally collapse the scrum now and just bleed a free kick. Suiwer kak.

Kak kick by Meredith, gives Jelly a chance to kick it right back to the Oz tryline. Wright with another 50-22 saves it though, what a kick.

Sua gets it to Jorgie wide but he just loses it as he tries a tough touchdown. So close.

Sua making things happen around him today, good to see after a poor outing last week.

France could take 3 there but opt for an attacking lineout.

That 3 would have put them within a score of Oz...but they turn it down in favour of playing rugby.

How do I hate and respect them this much at the same time?

Recap of the scrums thus far...

5 scrums;
3 Free Kicks
1 Penalty

That's 3 ruined/gamed scrums.

I wonder if it's beginning to dawn on people how damaging this is to the identity of the game.

Pakie
Captain17,610 posts
Pakie11 Jul 2026, 08:37

But does World Rugby care, that is the question.

Plum
Captain21,325 posts
Plum11 Jul 2026, 08:41

@Pakie I think it's SKBMM

Basically trying to make dominant teams less dominant and give less dominant teams more of a chance.

And that is probably good for the coffers, but bad for the identity of the game.
