Has just been selected for England. The fans are not happy…..calling him The Mercenary or The Failed South African.

I think it’s a disgrace when we have players like Will Wand at Leicester who is performing much better than him and is actually English ! Got my angry face on today !

Interesting comment becs.

I wonder if it would make any difference if he was from Nigeria, Congo or the Ivory Coast ?

Never hear a mention of other players from around the world being looked down at because of their heritage or country of birth in English sport.

English fans are upset because of his heritage/country not being English-Country but once they sober up perhaps they will be able to witness this young mans rugby skills and power on the field.

I doubt if that is at all possible, but hopefully he will win support once he shows his talent in the WHITE JERSEY of England on the rugby field.

England gain South Africa's loss.

No it wouldn’t make any difference, AJH. He’s not English, full stop.

As for the mullet, Pakie, it’s horrible !

Hi Becs,

I understand why it doesn’t feel right because he’s not English.

At the end of the day though, the player can’t be blamed for accepting a great opportunity to play international rugby.

Borthwick can’t really be blamed either, he wants to win. Especially when you consider the quality Bernard brings and the recent bad performances of Ollie Lawrence and Henry Arundell at centre.

Bernard has shown he’s more versatile. He can play 12, 13, or even 10 if needed. He’s a big lad coming in at 102 kg. He is a much better defender and has excellent distribution skills in the 12 channel.

I do wonder how you’d feel about him if he ends up directly involved in winning games for England?

I, dunno, the mullets are growing on me these days.

But only real mean klap a mohawk mullet.

...and when you get to a mohawk mullet with frosted tips, you've reached highs that are reserved for but a few chosen legends.

Hello Mpower. Hope you’re well.

Arundell hasn’t played centre, do you mean Freeman ?

No he’s not English, so that’s a deal breaker for me. I don’t care if he scores the winner in a RWC, he still shouldn’t be there.

We have lots of other, better options. I mean, poor Max Ojomoh plays one match, gets MOM and is then never seen again ! Where’s the logic in that ? For me, Will Wand of Leicester is playing superb rugby and should be pretty peeved at missing out.

Oh Plum, mullets can never grow on you…..they’re hideous.

They should all have hair like the Sladester in my opinion ;)

No problem Mpower :)

I think he still wants to persevere with Freeman in the centre……it was hard on him really because he was learning on the job during the Six Nations.
