"The U23 Cup was beneficial as it allowed us to utilize our entire squad and gear up for the Currie Cup," he mentioned. "Unfortunately, we've picked up close to 20 injuries since then, which really doesn't help."
The team's depth is further strained as the SA Rugby U20 Cup kicks off this weekend, and their URC squad gears up for a high-profile fixture against the All Blacks on August 15. Nomlomo pointed out the strain on their resources. "We’re servicing three teams at the moment. It’s all hands on deck."
This Saturday presents a critical test as the Bulls face a Lions team coming off a strong performance against the Pumas. Despite a previous win against the Lions in the U23 Cup final, Nomlomo is not taking any comfort from past successes. "We won that final, but this is the Currie Cup and a completely different campaign. It's a derby, which always adds an extra layer of intensity."
