Site was down so couldn't make a thread.

Summary of the game...

Shit box kicking by the Bulls saw them lose the game in the first half and then some absolutely shocking refereeing in the second half made sure they had no chance of coming back into the game.

And that's all she wrote for the URC 2026 season.

SA teams have a way of playing rugby by not playing rugby. I stopped watching just after Willie's yellow. Bulls had no plan for troubling Leinster. Just the same old bish bash let's try to run over them until they break kick and pray bullshit. No constructive rugby in sight. Pedantic backs. Moodie and Stravino looked like two flankers chasing down Stravino's kick ahead with the turnover ball in the first half.

36-7. Our best provincial side in the URC just got annihilated while offering just about nothing.

Who then? At 21 more tries, over 2000m more gained and 50 more clean breaks than the Stormers, I'd think it's safe to say they're our best. The Stormers had a far better idea of how to handle Leinster defensively, but without Sacha they're also just a bunch of industrious forwards fronting up a black hole out back. Even the Lions smashes the Stormers in all attacking stats apart from points scored, and they only barely lose that stat.

The Bulls were poor in the first half. The pack just couldn't get any momentum from the scrums, especially on the TH side. Klopper is not a starter.

The second half was better with the change of forwards and Wilco coming on. He made an immediate difference, with ascendancy in the scrums. Ackerman's coaching and team selections, needs serious attention.

But the most troubling part is the quality of reffing in Europe. Both Bulls tries were disallowed by atrocious TMO and ref calls.

Vorster's try was a clear grounding that was visible from the instant replay. And Moodie's pass was clearly backward, depending on the angle you looked at.

That fucking French ref clearly decided to make the call from the back angle and not the side angle. Blatant bias call. The side-angle replay clearly showed the ball going backward first from Moodie's pass.

South Africa, and especially the Boks, has a target on their backs. Yet again, a really good comeback was nipped in the butt by really bad reffing. The Bulls would've been right in it, with every chance to win.

I find it difficult to congratulate Leinster.

Pakie... attacking stats doesn't define the worth of a team...the Bools have been consistent in getting to the finals, but can't get over the finish line ... good team but IMO the Stormers are more competitive playing in Europe...we lost a few at home we shouldn't have, there isn't much to chose between the 2 teams, but IMO the Stormers edge it... despite the sentiment on this site...but it's only my opinion...and you're entitled to yours...keep well until next season...Leinster vs da Bools would have been a different kettle of fish @ Loftus ..the gap isn't that big.

Sorry this is a load of sour grapes shit.

Vorster's try was a clear grounding that was visible from the instant replay.

I wouldn't say it was 100% certain grounded from the angle show... but it was like 95% certain it was on the line from that rear angle. I can understand from the strictest technical point of view why it wouldn't be given but I do believe the video evidence was enough to award the try and the Bulls where hard done by heree. The ref did not make that call though the TMO did.

And Moodie's pass was clearly backward, depending on the angle you looked at.

No depending on the angle, it was clearly 110% forward. It wasn't momentum taking the ball forward, the angle it left his hand from was clearly forward.

That fucking French ref clearly decided

Italian ref!

I really appreciate and enjoy the what the South African teams have brought to the URC. It's amazing to having such a country with such a long, historic incredible successful and passionate following with rugby playing up in a competition up north with us. You have some of the worlds finest players and coaches. and you are deserved world champions and the current benchmark at the international level. But please for the love of god shut the fuck up with constant ref bashing and thee conspiracy theories because it makes you come across as so incredibly unsporting bad losers.

Stav, i honestly hate it when people blame the ref...

This time it is different.

Though it definitely wouldn't have made a difference to the end result - it did leave a foul shit taste in my mouth that I haven't tasted since I visited David's mum.

Well played Leinster - you are deserved champs.

There has been examples of bias reffing towards SA team in the URC. I have the right to my opinion, so fuck off with your rude language!

There is a massive, and I mean bloody enormously massive, rugby IQ problem in SA.

It's being glossed over because of the sheer number of talented players we have, but the problem is there and it's clear as day.

We're lucky the Boks are doing well. If not for that, what about our rugby over the last 3 years would we have to smile about?

I've no issue with people saying that Vorsters try was almost certainly a try because from the rear angle it looked almost certainly the ball was on the line, but I can understand why it wasn't given because you can't be 100% sure only like like 95% sure from the angle as you can't see the tip of the ball. Absolutely the Bulls can feel aggrieved on that call.

But the second one. 110% absolutely forward pass any day of the week.

Hey stav eat shit! You clearly need glasses. There is a clear lack of quality in EU reffing.

Yes there is issues with reff-ing but it's not bias against SA. I should of known from pretty much the first day of the URC when South African fans started moaning about how it was typical British reff-ing conspiracy where they are out to screw South African teams after a match against an Irish team that we were not going to get objectively balanced fans... but this is taking the piss. I've read numerous articles over the last few years on Supersport, South African Rugby Magazine. News24, and other South African rugby pundits on youtube and even official press statements from the Springboks and fuck sake shut the fuck up. 33% of the time you're right, 33% of the time you're talking absolutely biased nonsense and the other 33% of the time it's a one of those ambiguous decisions that could go either way.

Ughh... no need for insults.??

Mpower, I'm not swearing at you in you particular just this attitude South African rugby fans in general have particularly online. It takes the fun out of interacting with them.

I'm happy to acknowledge that the current South African rugby team has achieved something unprecedented in winning two world cups back to back and you're fully deserved of your no.1 ranking, it's fully deserved and any other nation would kill to achieve that. But at the start of the URC there was warnings from the Kiwi's that when you lot moved up north you were going to do nothing but whinge. Instantly it went from a conspiracy about Kiwi refs and NZ favouritism to Northern Hemisphere favouritism.. Why... how does that make sense... we wanted you to join us. It was in our interest and yours, why would we be deliberately screwing you over with ref decisions.

I'm not being emotional... I'm not a Leinster fan. It's just 5 years of interaction with South African rugby fans... it takes all the fun out of sporting contests. The ref always comes up.

I'm not saying that it is the case the SA teams are being screwed by refs.

But it's easy to make an argument for why sporting bodies would want to control results.

Ja stats don't tell a full story Draad, but it highlights trends. The Stormers scored the least tries of the SA franchises. That points to a problem. They barely beat the Sharks with meters gained and clean breaks, and that's with two extra games in the bag. They have arguably the best defense of the SA sides, I'll give them that. But like all our sides apart from the Lions, their attacking game is sorely lacking. We can bitch about refs all we want - the bottom line is our sides struggle to create opportunities.

Another interesting stat: The Lions, playing the most expansive game of all our sides, conceded the fewest turnovers by a huge margin.

The Stormers have the closest to the Bok game plan...the game plan you guys keep on complaining about, but it won the Bokke 4 RWCs...2 on the trot...forward dominance, a rock solid defence and backs that can exploit turnover ball...doesn't yield champagne rugby most of the time, but it's the best knockout rugby strategy...the Stormers was one victory and a bonus point or 2 from a home semi or final ...Bools too...and close to the same game plan...the Bools had a poor start to the season...Bools and Lions run up huge scores on the highveld against touring teams...it skews their attacking stats ...Stormers has close to European conditions in winter... that's Euro teams beat us more at home...we should remedy that ...be more focused at home...the fact that some of our home games are played in Stellies or PE is also problematic...the result of having COCT in charge of the stadium ... throwing away home advantage for 2 odd games a season is rediculous... Can't stand the fact that the DA city council, ANC fat cats and Thelo Wakefield scammed WP out of Newlands ...they needed someone to pay for the maintenance of the stadium, but then can't work out a schedule allowing for all our games being played at Cape Town Stadium...typical political horse sh!t.

The problem with the Bools is that they simply don't have any quality backs that Leinster have. Moody, Pollard, Papier, Willie and Arendse are all internationals and yet with having together for the past 4 months, I hoped they would gel and finally show there worth. The Bools, have the forwards to. But just poor selection, game plan and back play. If it is not Papier kicking it was Pollard.

The other problem is that these boks know they are in the bok team and not playing for a position. I just wish Rassie would award club for with test positions and not the other way around.

But they were all kak, not just the coach, but when he selects Carr and 5 loose forwards in the the bench speaks volumes
