Deon Slabbert makes a comeback as the No 5 lock following an injury that sidelined him since the clash against the All Blacks. Meno Barnard will now grace the blindside flanker role, due to a mix-up in the loose trio which also sees Jean-Henri Smit joining the fray and Tino Mavesere moving to No 8.
The only tweak to the backline features Janco Purchase stepping up as the inside centre, which relegates Albie Bester to the bench. These changes reflect the team's desperate bid to stay alive in the competition, as they currently linger in seventh place with just a couple of rounds left.
"We're at a critical juncture of the season, and every selection is aimed at maximizing our strengths against specific opponents. This match is do or die for us," stated coach Mike Vowles.
Proceeds from the game will go to a noble cause. The Sharks are rallying their fans to support Jeremy Swan, a local player who suffered a catastrophic injury last month. This night is set to showcase the strength of the rugby community, urging fans to fill the seats in a united show of support.

Ross Braude (captain), 10. Tim Swiel, 11. Khuthi Rasivhaga, 12. Janco Purchase, 13. Lyle Matthews, 14. Christie Grobbelaar, 15. Luan Giliomee.
