‘Bandi’ Aki?

Those were the list of 5 players nominated by the various unions to be cionsiudered by the committee appointed by Word Rugby to pick  as Player of the Year for 2023.    Dave is right - it is not his list.   Bundi Aki was notminated by Ireland - South Africa nominated Etzebeth.   .   

Despite Mozart's  2019 allegations that only the winners of the WC would be picked for that honor in WC years  -Savea rightfully got the award  for rugby peformance throughout the whiole 2023  rugby year and was the right choice.   Etzebeth fully deserve th e nomination - but did not get the support of the 8 member selection committee even though th e  AB's did not win the WC.   Etzebeth  was possibly not supporrted  by the Committee after failure of the Springboks line-outs in the final.             .        

Eben got us over the line in our most important match of the RWC vs France...probably the best RWC match in history...

Agree with you a bout Etzebeth's perfomance in th French test but h ave reservations about it being the  best match in RWC history.    

By the way De Allende scored a try in the French test as well - but he is condemned completly by the site rugby experts.
