Deon Fourie has been selected for the Springbok squad after a stellar game for the Stormers against the All Blacks last Friday. His performance in the highly anticipated Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour was nothing short of exceptional.

He spent 61 minutes demonstrating his resilience and skill, securing two turnovers — the highest in the game — and making an impressive 14 tackles, only missing one. His physicality was on full display despite his recent comeback from multiple serious injuries.

Fourie's rugby journey is a testament to his tenacity. Making his Springbok debut at the age of 35 in 2022, he has since been capped 13 times. His last international appearance was in the 2023 World Cup final against these very same All Blacks, where he played as a hooker for most of the game.
Since then, he has battled through a series of injuries, including serious knee and bicep injuries and knee ligament damage following an incident during a match in May. Each time, Fourie has fought his way back onto the pitch, embodying the spirit and toughness expected of a player at the highest levels of international rugby.
