The first half saw the Stormers dominate, putting five tries on the board to lead 33-7 at the break. Their performance escalated them to fifth place on the log, while the Bulls remain anchored at the bottom without a win.
Markus Muller, Kyle Smith, Herman Lubbe, Joel Leotlela, and Mhleli Khuzwayo each found their way to the try line during an electrifying first half, setting a formidable tone for the match.
Shortly after play resumed, Joel Leotlela showcased his agility, evading multiple tackles to score his second try of the night in the corner, pushing the scoreline to 40-7 after Smith's conversion.
"We took control early and applied pressure relentlessly, which paid off with critical points on the board," said Leotlela.
However, the Bulls began to claw their way back into the game in the 54th minute when Demitre Erasmus latched onto a skillful grubber to touch down. This momentum continued as they secured another try from a potent rolling maul, narrowing their deficit to 40-19.
Smith knocked over a long-range penalty to widen the gap, but the Bulls responded once more when they took advantage of an extra man, following a yellow card to Cornel Smit, to score again, bringing the score to 43-26.
In the closing stages, the Stormers sealed their victory with a maul-driven try by replacement Eric Basson, finalized by Smith’s boot for a 50-26 finish.
