After calming down and watching the rest of game, and then reading the comments here, there are three things that I'm annoyed by.

Firstly, Piardi. The guy is a clown. That's al most all I'll say. I know things aren't easy, but when you can't see obviously skew lineout throwing or an Ozzi pack that is lined up directly in line with our hooker at a lineout, then I have to wonder what exactly is going on. That's all I'll say though I have more complaints.

Secondly, as Pakie put in another post here, this team was basically set up to fail. We start with a front row that has almost never actually played together and whom individually had their last cap two months ago. Divvy suddenly starts after having been ignored for the last 6 weeks. AE and Moodie are suddenly called up to blow the Ozzies out of the water and when the hell last did the two of them start together? Fassi gets picked to start after showing zero form since forever. Louw starts ahead of Cam for some reason nobody understands and while Cam has been excellent every time he has played.

I'm not too concerned that guys are old, but what seriously annoys me is that people are chucked into these games in a combination that is almost a new team, and then players are said to have been given a "chance". Look at our starting pack. After all the musical chairs, for years now, we put out a "B" pack and they have almost no time together.

Thirdly, the thing annoys me most of all is the comments. Like, this player sucks and blew his chance. What chance? A chance to shine as an individual? Cos there is no base of synergy that these players that are given "chances" can work off of.

Suddenly we are missing Kriel, DDA and PSDT. Really!?

Bullshit. What we are missing is Cam who is better than PSDT actually being given a run of starts. For heaven's sake, he is clearly one of the best loosies in S.A. but has gotten one start this year, chucked in, all of a sudden, against England and then saw very minimal time against the ABs...where he was phenomenal every time. Or AE and Moodie who moonlight once in a while and are never ever given a run of games to build a partnership? What about Jaintjies? Booted into touch, and then suddenly starts away from home against Oz when Crappies finished the RGR with the MOTM performance?

Seriously, Pakie said it perfectly, it honestly feels like these guys are set up to fail. Not intentionally, but you look at the selections and the rhythm of those selections and you have to wonder what comments about these players are actually valid.

Yeah, Fassi is an error prone calamity at this point but he has been given many chances. And also as Paks said, we've been bemoaning his shyte form for two years now. And then Horn, who gets bundled into 10 against England and then sees zero game time until today when Fassi predictably fails, get his second "chance". "We've ignored you for most of the season Quan, but run on in the second half, play in your preferred position for the first time in a Bok jersey and do it with guys that you have no game time with." Fucking great.

But who else? Who else can you actually look at say that they are part of a combination that has had consistent faith shown in it and is still underperforming. I actually can't think of anyone.

This was a wasted game where yet again it was stupid selections masquerading as building continuity. Comments about any particular performances by players are basically pointless.

@Pakie ja nee, Paks...you sound just as depoes in as I am.

...and what makes it ever worse is the "trust in the almighty Rassie" crowd.

Out of the last 6 games, we've had one actually convincing win against a depleted and gatvol AB side. The other five have been two losses and three home scrapes.

And now we have Ireland and France to come. No doubt we'll go right back to stampkar for those games.

Can you feel progress!?

Plummie don't think though that I don't sense the sexual tension in your writing as you dig into your man crush Piccardi. You like him being a bad boy, don't you?

Hahahahahahahaha.
Hilarious comments from the mamparas

Bye the way Plumster didn't you see Pakster's comment asking us to stop criticizing the hapless ref. Glad you did see the crooked line out throws.
Rassie has his eye on the RWC. He needs to achieve three things. One is not to overplay his top match 23. Secondly, he needs to give game time to the rest of the squad to develop players and weed out any not up to it. Thirdly he needs to see exactly what each player can do if asked to fulfill a less familiar role. Versatility is useful to have.
What the Mamparas are missing is that to achieve these ends some risks have to be taken. Rassie knows that putting a new side on the park many of whom hadn't played for a while was a risk but a worthwhile one
Yes Rassie is so far ahead of tbe mamparas in this board it is very funny indeed.
Plumpster admit your nose is out of joint because AE had a relatively poor game proving yet again why Allende is preferred.
I thought Moodie and Dr Villiers were good.
Fassi was a bit shaky and not in the class of Willemse. Horn needs more gamectime to be fairly tested.
No they were not set up to fail but they were all tested.
Listen, when we played the Argies with a scratch side we barely won. When we played our test 23 in the first test against the wee abs we lost. But from that moment on we improved.
Play this same side again and they would improve also.
I have zero problems with Rassie selection. Rassie learned things about were his players are and what works and what doesn't.
It will be interesting to see if any are dropped.
I don't think we will see Wessels and Portens as starting props again though. They are third string.
I also would like to say that the Oz pack has been beefed up and was better than usual. Their backs were enterprising as well. That said our best test 23 should take care of them
So could the Mamparas dry their eyes and please pretty please understand your limitations and be thankful we have such a great coach. 😂🤣😂🤣😂😂

No, Beenie. Kindly read again with due care and attention.

Rassie learned things about were his players are and what works and what doesn't.

He still has to learn about Fassi and Eskom and Mostert? They've been around for years, we know where Eskom's ceiling is because he produces the same basic performance every time he plays, we know Fassi is out of form and he's been doing stupid as shit stuff all season, we know Mostert is in the twilight of his career and he's not going to get better. The players we still haven't seen enough is Cam as a starter, Quan as a starter, Cobus Wiese as a starter since he seems to be lined up as a lock option. That would have been some valuable info.

@Pakie ...indeed, but maybe some promises were made and rewards given for services rendered ... the squad is part of the team...and who knows what the objectives are, but I can agree with you, I can't wait to see the back of Eskom, Fassie and even Jantjies...Louw has yet to impress and I don't get the front row experiments...we have abundance, why play a hooker as a prop? Makes no sense...and Fourie at hooker? Rassie confusing everyone including himself...

We know enough about Hanekom and Cobus Wiese. Rassie had to test Fassi. Horn got some 40 minutes. I think Horn should start against Italy.
Pakster I know you love to moan more than most but always remembrr how wrong you have been so many times.
I think some Mamparas will expire if we win the RWC a third consequetive time. It will simply be too much to endure.
I do hope the Mamparas can now appreciate what a great center combo Allende and Kriel are. We would definitely have won if they had played. 😀😀😀
Yet we have had to endure the AE, MOODIE punters abusing and smearing these two great servants of Bok rugby for years. I like Moodie and he looks like he will succeed the great Jessie Kriel but who really knows.
What I do know and can state with certainty is mamparas will be Mamparas. 😂😂😂

We know enough about Kobus Wiese do we?

Are you joking, Beeno?

Where did we learn all that? In his 3 or 4 Test caps?

And you missed the main point of the post. It's not about knowing enough about individual players. The point is that you don't learn much by randomly chucking a mixed bag into a game. Because it's synergy that you want. And you don't find synergy in a lucky packet match day squad.

And what do you learn by brining Marx, Ox and Wilco on at the same time? Like, what didn't you already know? I'd have started Marx and brought Grobbies on with Ox and Wilco. At least then you are learning about those combos.

And why play AE and Moodie together? It's a bloody waste, because as I said at the start of last year, they will never play an important game as a combo. So that's also a waste too.

And then, at 9, why play Reinach, Williams, Crappies, Jaintjies and Papier? What are we learning from that experiment? Like, what did we learn about Jaintjies today?

Not to fear, it's all in the almighty Rassie plan.

Beeno Biscuits, where is your comparison of actual player strengths, no acknowledgment of the obvious: history shows DDA and Jessica Kriel simply do not have the same ball in hand threat as Esterhuizen and Moodie.

Yes, AE and Moodie made mistakes – while chasing a 25 point deficit with less than 30 minutes left, together with Morné VD Berg and SFM. Absolute chaos, very little game time together, so mistakes is bound to happen.

Definitely not because they’re inherently poorer. On the contrary, DDA and Kriel would have never been able to chase down that deficit.

You also ignore the core issue as mentioned: Rassie’s selection policy makes no sense. Where is the plan to build an A side and then a second A side. A genuine second XV that can step in without looking like a completely new, untested team.

Instead we get inconsistent combinations, players neglected for long periods, then thrown in once‑off and judged on that single outing.

That’s not building depth, that’s protecting favourites. But none of that really matters to you. All we get from you is: “mamparas” this, "mamparas" that, emojis and laughter...Bwahahahahaha

I guess, every platform needs a "Joker."

There are only a few teams that can compete with a full strength Bok team...Aus is not one of them...best way to give the almost there players a run in a pressure environment is picking a weaker team...the rabble were tested today to in a way to put them under pressure....I don't like the fact that we picked a team that could ...and eventually did lose to Aus...but it was a good way to give them a run at pressure test rugby...they got better XP than playing in a team that could easily run over the Aussie team...having said that, I would have preferred to see a back row of 6PdV, 7Roos, 8 Cam instead of Eskom and Louw...Horn instead of Fassie and an actual front row, not an experimental one...now we have to win all our matches at the EOY to save our season...pesky Aussies raining on our parade yet again...
