SUMMARY
in the 1960's and 70's Germany developed a system that ssentially undmined democracy, The ideal was to esnsure three Parties would undrmine new Parties and 2 of the three parties would govern as a reining coalition.
It did not change much after the fall of Communism in East Grmany and Germany was unified, bot two new Parties in fact developed in the 1990's One ws just a rebirth of the Communist Party calling themselved De Linke or in English the Left, Communism was never regarded as a real treat to Germany and Government criticism wa limited.
What the three parties feared most was th e emerging of a really conservative party in Germany, and in 1994 the fear of such a party emerged in the form of the AfD, Th three majopr parties feared that such a Party may start and ulitmately posed a threat to the three Party Coaition system. So the German Sericuty systm jgraded the new party as a revival of the Nazi Party and the propaganda war kicked in and is continueing.
In reality there are three catefgories into which the political scenario in Germany can be classified:-
^ Ultra=-Left = De Linke;and the Greens
^ Center Left - the SPD. the CDU
^ Center - CSU (Bvaria)
^ Right - AfD
