Rubio is what I would of called a standard Republican and an actual politician and one of the more competent people in Trump's administration. I suspect he doesn't agree and is embarrassed with a lot of what's gone on in Trump's second term. Particularly the war between Russia-Ukraine I suspect he's the one the most sympathetic towards Ukraine in the Trump cabinet.
Nevertheless he threw in his lot with Trump's which tells me that he's willing to put his ideals aside if it will advanced his career.
His speech at Munich, well it was a much more polite and less offensive version of JD's bucket of cold sick speech that we got last year, was basically a plug for Europe to join Trump's vision of the future. Europe was like thanks but no thanks.

It was a mistake for Europe to become so reliant on energy, but the difference is Europe is trying to wean it's self off it's dependency of Russian energy and is mostly set to do so next year. Trump on the other hand is trying to arrange new economic ties with Putin and making excuses for the European countries who are making no attempt to move away from Russian energy like Hungary.

Europe's doing plenty, it's providing Ukraine with the bulk of it's aid either directly or indirectly, it's refused to allow America to bully Ukraine into submission, it stood up to Trump over Greenland forcing him into a humiliating climb down. Several European countries are going under major rearmament drives, one German armament company alone Rheinmetall is producing more artillery shells alone than the entirety of US artillery shell production. Europe has also signed two massive trade deals with South America and India. It's moving forward with it's payment system to replace Visa/Mastercard, it's actually regulating big tech and not letting have it free reign to spread misinformation and child porn.
The Europeans do indeed also do a lot of talking of not all of it is productive or beneficial. But at least their talk is grounded in reality not this absolutely insane garbage coming out of Washington.

It is time to acknowledge what has become tragically obvious: the Trump administration is essentially acting as a massive criminal enterprise. It lies, steals, extorts and murders — all while cloaked in the awesome authority of the state. It is on a crime spree that puts Al Capone to shame.
This is not hyperbole or hyperventilation. It is our reality, as the facts amply demonstrate. This administration has:
Murdered Renee Good and Alex Pretti, slandered them as “domestic terrorists” and “assassins,” and allowed their killers to walk free. Unleashed thousands of minimally trained ICE agents, recruited with explicitly white supremacist messaging, to inflict terror on people of color. Repeatedly violated the constitutional rights of citizens and non-citizens by arresting them for First Amendment-protected speech, raiding their homes without judicial warrants, and imprisoning them without due process.
And killed dozens of civilians on the high seas solely on the unsubstantiated claim that they were drug runners (not that being drug runners would justify their summary executions without due process anyway). Released hundreds of imprisoned felons who brutally beat Capitol police officers on Jan. 6. Converted the once-independent Department of Justice into an instrument of personal retribution via the prosecution of cooked-up lawsuits against the president’s enemies. Threatened to seize the territory of a sovereign nation (a NATO ally no less).
And declared that legislators should be executed for reminding military personnel of their duty to disobey illegal orders. Tried to impose ruinous and unconstitutional sanctions on some of the country’s largest law firms simply because Trump doesn’t like them. Violated court orders on a massive scale. As the chief federal district judge of Minnesota recently wrote, “ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”
And shaken down some of the country’s largest universities by illegally threatening to withhold funding; and engaged in breathtaking corruption: as the conservative writer David Frum stated, “Trump’s scale of stealing and bribe-taking has never been remotely paralleled in any democratic country ever before.”
And that’s just for starters; there are dozens more examples.
It is difficult to comprehend the level of state-sponsored criminality we are witnessing because our country has never experienced anything like it. It is also difficult to absorb because it is happening so quickly, and on so many different fronts. In the words of the 2022 movie, it sometimes feels like “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” And that can be exhausting, numbing, and overwhelming.
But viewing the Trump administration as a massive crime syndicate allows us to be clear-eyed about what is coming down the road, and to plan accordingly. To take the most urgent example, there ought to be no question as to whether Trump will try to steal the midterm elections. Of course he will try to steal them. Criminals gonna crime.
Trump tried to steal the 2020 elections, and the lack of any consequences for that supremely traitorous act only further emboldened him. It is every patriotic American’s duty to oppose the coming effort to nullify the will of the voters.
That this administration can reasonably be viewed as a criminal enterprise should not be cause for despair. The courts have rejected many of the administration’s power grabs and unconstitutional or illegal acts. The president is less popular than he has ever been. Prominent Republicans are defying him more than ever. The brave citizens of Minneapolis are showing us how effective organized resistance can be.
And Bad Bunny, with his Super Bowl message that “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” gave us reason to believe that kindness, compassion and decency will prevail.

Liberalism is all about submission. Land grabbing is part of the US strategy, Trump is a fierce advocate of it. This does not even fit the official narrative of the White House. To believe this stuff, one must bypass the very official narrative of the White House in a manner that require mental gymnastics that may not even be accessible to an average liberal mind.
Trump has not dropped the project of land grabbing Greenland. Trump still is pressuring South Korea to force land grabbing on them. The US are eyeing on Patagonia. It has nothing to do with troops deployments (The US can deploy troops any time in Greenland, the fuss over Mauritius military base and the 100 year lease is another big stone in the glass garden) Trump reacted to the NATO operation decided by the EU in Greenland by using tariffs as a political coercion lever. Troops moved by the EU in Greenland are by the way not to protect the territory from Russia or China but to dissuade the US from conquering it as the Pentagon is not favourable to the operation.
Trump's policy on land grabbing is cohesive: he wants permanent addition to the US territory, which is very easy to conceive as he has kept riling up his allies which in return have led them to consider the US as untrustworthy. Trump is certainly not stupid and understands the consequences of his actions.
