Everyone knew that you cant negotiate with the Iranians. Even if they did agree to something, it is not worth the paper it was written on.
Trump said the whole goal of war was for Iran to give up is nuclear assets. However, he said that Iran refuse to do this.
So he knows that his war has failed. Iran will not give up its nuclear reserves, and they now appear to own the Hormuz Strait.
More long-term economic problems for the rest of the world.
